Be good to your purse!

I've been searching for brass toe cap pumps for a while. In fact since I saw them at the YSL runway.
 I was immediately smitten!

Since they were far too expensive, I was thrilled when I saw yesterday that Zara is also selling brass toe cap pumps! So I went in, searched frantically and tadaaaaaaa found them!
Not only do they add a few needed centimeters and give a bit of sparkle, they are super comfortable. I also think they are a very close match and make a nice addition to my shoe closet!

Ps.: Haven't bought the Ferragamos yet because maybe I am getting a Burberry sandal instead. I have the hardest time deciding!!

Prawn Pasta

Some nights all I need is something simple, fast but still a bit sophisticated.
Pasta with prawns, herb butter, garlic & good olive oil is the best choice in this case. Everytime!

A Parcel From Sweden!

April is just around the corner and thanks to däv and the lovely Stina Auer, one of my favourite bloggers, I will jump in puddles all april long. But with style!
I won these elegant rainboots on Stinas blog a few weeks ago and today they finally arrived. Totally cute & the fleece lining is sooo plush and soft! Can't wait for some rainy days!

Be sure the check out Stinas blog! Her sense of style, the beautiful pictures and her way to express herself are incredibly beautiful.

Early mornings are perfect for picking up parcels from the post office.

You can call them Victoria!

The Internet

What would we do without it? The Internet. Without the Internet, we wouldn't be here. And by "we" I mean us bloggers. Totally inexistent.

What would our world be like without the Internet? Where would we get this quick abundance of ideas, inspirations or know what to buy because everyone it totally getting crazy about it online and you have to have that item too! Fashion Blogger related the YSL arty ring, the H&M collaborations, the hottest new nail polish or the It- bag of the hour come to mind. And what would Scott Schuman do?

The world is just a few clicks away. The threshold to buy an foreign newspaper or magazine is much bigger and circuitous than to just go on the website and read that special article someone recommend- maybe even on some blog. Because would you really spend a lot of money on some imported newspaper when all you want to read is just one article. Would you really get up and get out to get it? Reading in an instant on your living room couch is much nicer, is it not?*

Not getting invites to parties via Facebook. Not having a long list of followers on twitter to network. Not knowing in a few seconds where the next burlesque show will be happen in your town. Not being able to book your own flight without visiting an travel agent. Not knowing what else is out there!!
Not being able to communicate so quick and in fact very cheap.
I was in boarding school and when I remember correctly the first 2 years we all had calling cards or always a few coins in our pockets to call home. Some nights there was even a line in front of the pay phone. The pay phone! Can you even imagine? You hardly find those anymore.... And let me tell you, I am not that old! Changes beyond belief in the shortest period of time.

Would we all be journalists, authors or in some kind of publishing? I don't think so. We would probably have totally other hobbies, other lives. And what's with the time we spend in front of the computer? With what would we fill it? DIY projects out of a magazine?

Even if we would stop being online, not using our cellphones to check our emails and using just the landline. All around you a world is existing using the internet and is influencing your life big time. That's why I think an experience in which one or a few persons are trying to live without being online isn't very interesting for me. Interesting for me would be how society would have changed or not without this very invention and what would I do and what would change in my life when all of us would suddenly not be able to use it anymore, by whatever force it may be.

The internet is a tool we use constantly and is also a playground we enjoy permanently. Without it would a big calm come over us, or would we loose out on so many things?

But hey! I think we would survive!

*Buying contet of an online newspaper etc is another pair of shoes I don't wanna get into it now.

Soft Red Lips

The Tendertone lip balms from MAC are my favourite lip balms! A sheer, softly tinted and moisturizing glossy lip balm. It's a pity that they only come in limited editions.
My first Tendertone lip balm was "Pucker", bought in 2008(!), and I was so disappointed when I went back to buy another one and found out that they were not available anymore.

A few weeks ago they came back with new colours with the COOK Limited Edition! But this time I knew better and stocked up! Two pots Hot 'N' Saucy are waiting in my makeup drawer and one is  already going everywhere I am going.
Hot 'N' Saucy is a cherry red with a nice glossy finish and big plus is the SPF 12 and the lovely light strawberry-kiwi flavour. Yumm!

As green as it gets

How to make big cities a better place to live with just some minor and cheap inventions? Is moss graffiti the next big thing? It would sure make all the grey big cities much more enjoyable & green!

How to do your own moss graffiti

Or like in Jaujac, France, the artist Gaelle Villedary installed a long grass carpet across the village of Jaujac in France. The green trail required 168 rolls and runs for 420 meters (1,377 feet) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the “Arts and Nature Trail” program.

EVERYONE'S IRISH ON MARCH 17TH

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and all the local pubs were celebrating! Green beer, decorations, green ballons and Irish folk music everywhere! Last night was also the first warm night and we enjoyed staying out, walking around and did some serious pub crawling!

I wore my new trench coat, my always reliable brown Boss heels and my favourite blue jeans. And for some green sparkles: Essies Going Incognito on my nails and a green bracelet from Frey Wille.

Splurge A Little

Two weeks ago I went to the6thfloor shoe store again just to browse and see what's new but hey- don't get any ideas!- no shopping! I "ah!" and "ohed!" my way through the cute Marc Jacobs mouse flats, petted some Gucci sandals and stopped by the pretty Bottega Venetas. I was still strong- no impulse to put something on the cash desk and on my feet immediately. I felt good and I was so proud of myself!

But the second I walked by the Ferragamo shoe display, all my intentions not to shop went out the window! Since two weeks I'm lurking around the lovely Varinas from Ferragamo now. The salesgirls know me already- but this shoes are sooo pretty! I tried them on and they are comfy and I like them soooo much! But the wide range of choices in different colours, patterns and materials is giving me a hard time. Normally having a choice is a good thing... but this time I am not sure.
Right now I prefer the pink ones although I am not a girly girl and pink shoes would usually be a bit too cute for me. But when I think about it and look at them surprisingly they fit me and my style. They make me a bit more feminine and I like it!

What do you think? Go pink or go home? Or blue? Or white with a black bow?

He Made Me Breakfast

On sunday morning he made me breakfast. The best scrambled eggs with radish sprouts, ham and parsely. Just like that. No special reason. Nothing can compete with this little sweet signs of affection!

Out With The New!

I'm in the middle of transforming our balcony into a fine place to eat, read & just be outside. Well actually I am planning that. Last year was our first summer in our new flat and this year I wanna brighten up the outside space a little bit more and make it even nicer! Now, after I know which flowers are comfortable with not so much sunlight (can you say northfacing-balcony?), I will choose the right flowers, buy some colourful plant pots, lanterns and much more.
Though I have yet to purchase anything for the space, here are some of my favorite pieces I’ve come across.

British Green

I just love my Barbour jacket- it's the opposite of dressing up in glamourous coat but if you want something casual and comfortable you can't choose to wear a better jacket than Barbour's classic wax jackets. Actually it's an essential attire for me in the time between the seasons. It's the perfect transition jacket to throw over a sweater and a pair jeans and I am out the door!

The smooth and waxy feeling on the outside and the soft cosy feeling of the lining on the inside of the pockets is just pure bliss! Yes, I am the typ of person who has to touch anything to know how it feels ;)

Normally when I am wearing it I don't need a purse with me because I can carry all of my necessities in one of the pockets! The loose fit and the ability to keep the wind out are just 2 reasons of the many why I love to wear this jacket on long walks or anything that could be done outdoors and in the nature.

Good Food

Super spicy noodles- Sichuan Style!

Last sunday we went to my favourite Chinese Restaurant- Meister Xiao! The food there is delicious and mostly very authentic. Actually this is the most authentic chinese cuisine you will be able to find in Vienna. It is not far from our house- just a nice 15 minute walk away- and there may be others but from what I have experienced this is the best Chinese restaurant in Vienna. A lot of the patrons are Chinese locals or Chinese working in the foreign service here in Vienna- what I think is a very good sign! Service can be a bit slow but it is worth waiting because it's always super fresh and hot. I also like that the waitress knows me by now... have I already mentioned that it's a familiy- run restaurant? For me, that makes it just a little bit more charming!

Jiaozi

The menu just says "Fried Chinese Vegetables" but it tastes soooo much better!

Chicken in a heavenly sauce. Normaly it comes with crispy rice but I prefered normal rice.

Wanna go away?

Pelle Bergström via Skarp.

Do you wanna go away with me this week? Let us all ditch work or school or anything that's holding us back! Just pack some bags, take your sunglasses and we are off to wherever the road may lead us! Perhaps to a place with a clear blue sky, a warm and soft breeze and a view of the ocean where you can smell the salty sea and tropical lush green flowers in full bloom. Being barefoot all day, every sunset is lovely and you always have enough time to watch the orange sun melt into the ocean. Drinking cocktails under a magical star spangled sky and sleeping in late the next day. Nothing to worry about, your heart is light and life is easy.
